12th October 08 – England Call Up For The Trio

Every time you pick up the news paper or put on the television there is some story or other about youth crime, a stabbing or anti-social behaviour. I would like to point out this is a very small minority of youths and when they achieve something they don’t seem to get the same attention than when they go off the rails. So I would like to shout from the top of the buildings how proud I am of Saule Del-Rio, Harley Del-Rio and Joshua Gagon who were selected to represent England in the forthcoming European Junior Championships which is due to be held in Paris on the 31st January and 1st February 2009.  I don’t think there is a group of teenagers who deserve this more than these guys after all the hours in the dojo and the gym over the last 10 years.  This is the first time that there has been 3 of our students who have been selected at the same time to represent their country.

A huge pat on the back should go to all of our coaching staff.

Is this just a coincidence, a structure, discipline and guidance and a little more stick and less carrot and you get results. You can take any martial arts club around the UK with the same ethos as ours and come out with the same conclusions (a great kid!)

“Wear that England badge with pride!”
